
Coastal theme in progress
I've started working up three collage pictures from coastal views adapted from memory, sketches and photos. Breaking free from the constraints of trying to be literally representational to creating rhythmic compositions and starting to apply textures. Initial collage and wash stage so far. A lot of 'building' still to do but I'm happy that they are already developing a life of their own.

Red Circle Art Preview
Managed to attend the 'Red Circle Art' exhibition preview at the Trinity Arts Centre in Tunbridge Wells. The frame game
I was thinking about about how I might make some floater frames for canvases, also box frames or boards for my asssmbleages. Then, clearing my cluttered work surface ready to trim some paintings, I found one old watercolour in a traditional frame I'd made in 1978(!) and three junk shop pictures I'd forgotten I'd bought for the frames. 5 minute landscapes
A couple of quick 5 minute pen sketches looking over a road side gate towards the North Downs whist cycling back from work. There's something about the lack of focus and detail that makes these countryside views attractive. A timeless but fleeting play of light. Simple graphic shape composition. A restful glimpse that is easily overlooked...
